books and brie

where does the time go? i've been meaning to post about my fall soiree and its been ten days ago now. well better late than never. 

there's something about this time of year that makes me want to get creative with food and decor and have people over. since there's nothing i like more then curling up with a good book when the weather is cold out i decided to have a book party. i asked everyone to bring two books, one fiction one non, wrapped up fun, then we took turns picking out two new books. it was a great afternoon full of great friends, great food, new books and pumpkin scented candles.

whimsical bookmarks and wee glass jars full of loose leaf tea in two flavors, chai and cinnamon plum, tied with a ribbon.

there would have been more food pictures but as you can imagine, it didnt last long.

im thinking this winter...a mitten swap party.

now all i have to look forward to in the mail is my pottery barn catalog, not nearly as exciting. 

fall fun

i love living somewhere with four distinct seasons, but im gonna have to play favorites, i love fall the most. never am i reminded more of how amazing our creator is then when im surrounded by colors so vibrant they dont even look real. 

picking pumpkins, drinking pumpkin spice lattes, baking things that contain pumpkin, decorating with pumpkins...you may be sensing a theme in a few of my favorite fall traditions, nothing compares though to watching nyah experience this season for the first time.

we do love our pumpkins around here. :)

this would have been a pretty good opportunity for family christmas pictures...oh well. thanks navy, ruiner of DREAMS!
